Jump4Timbuktu successfully campaigns for Regional President of Timbuktu to attend Climate Change conference at Copenhagen
Jump4Timbuktu and the Regional Assembly President of Timbuktu, Mohamed Ibrahim Cisse, have been invited by the nrg4SD (a UN initiative acting at the regional level on climate change and sustainable development issues) to attend the Copenhagen conference on Climate Change in December. M Cisse will form part of the African delegation that will be there, talking with Jayne Davidson of the Welsh Assembly government, with the aim of influencing negotiations to lessen the impact of climate change on Sub Saharan countries.
Jump4Timbuktu has been campaigning increasingly on these matters through its food and water security projects and its commitment to sustainable development with Tuareg communities in and around Timbuktu.
